- Foreign citizens and stateless persons who have entered the Russian Federation to study, upon arrival at the checkpoint indicated on the visa, must contact the Dispatch Service for international students (office 1-05) within 3 working days to notify of their arrival and register.
- Foreign students whose national passports are about to expire are required to renew or replace them 7 months before their expiration date and submit them to the Dispatch Service for international students (office 1-05).
- To extend a visa, the necessary documents must be submitted 50 calendar days before its expiration to the Dispatch Service for international students (office 1-05).
- To live in an apartment, you must write an application to the Vice-Chancellor for Educational Activities and submit a lease agreement to the Deputy Dean for Residents of Apartments. Students are required to provide information about their residential address to the Dispatch Service for international students (office 1-05) within 3 days.
- To change their place of residence, foreign students must contact the Dispatch Service for international students (office 1-05) to obtain permission. Without permission, changing the place of residence is prohibited.
- Registration of international students living in apartments is carried out by the landlord within 3 days. The landlord must contact the migration service or multifunctional center (MFC). The student must be registered strictly at the address of their actual residence.
- If it is necessary to travel to other cities of the Russian Federation, international students are required to contact the Dean's Office for international students to obtain permission to travel. Travelling to other cities is prohibited without notifying the Dean's Office.
- If an international student was hospitalized, the day after release he/she must contact the Dispatch Service for international students (office 1-05).
- If an international student stayed in a hotel/hostel, he/she must contact the university visa service (office 1-05) the day after the end of their stay in the hotel/hostel.
- International students who arrive at VolSMU for studies are required to do medical check-up at the VolSMU Family Medicine Clinic (20, Kim St.) and fingerprinting no later than 90 calendar days from the date of entry into the Russian Federation. Medical examination is conducted annually, fingerprinting is carried out once. The results of the medical check-up and fingerprinting must be submitted to the Dispatch Service for international students (office 1-05) within 3 days of receipt.
- International students are required to purchase a voluntary health insurance policy.
- After completing studies at the university, a foreign citizen must leave the Russian Federation within 2 weeks.
- After expulsion, international students from former Soviet Union countries must leave the territory of the Russian Federation within 3 days. Students from visa entry countries who are expelled from the university must leave the Russian Federation after obtaining a transit visa.
- When living in an apartment, it is prohibited to shatter the calm of citizens from 11:00 PM to 6:00 AM.
- For repeated violation of the rules of residence, registration and movement within the territory of the Russian Federation, punishment may include administrative deportation from the Russian Federation without the right to enter for 5 years.
